Jeff Jasper is President of the SILC Board. He resides in Fort Dodge, and has a 6 year old son, Robert. Jeff enjoys re-building computers, singing, and acting. Jeff is interested in starting a Center for Independent Living (CIL) in Fort Dodge, as their community is currently not served by a CIL. Jeff has a bachelors degree in Vocational Rehabilitation.

Jim Paprocki is Vice President of the SILC Board. He is a former Board Member of the Black Hawk Center for Independent Living, and is also an active member of the Iowa Olmstead Consumer Task Force. Jim has a Masters Degree in Public Policy from the University of Northern Iowa. Jim and his wife, Martha, have two children. Their oldest son is a senior at the University of Iowa, and their youngest son has autism, which prompted Jim and Martha to become involved in Independent Living. Jim is retired from a career in human services, and also spent some time as a Union activist. Jim and Martha reside in Waterloo.

Donna Crum is Secretary of the SILC Board. She is a retired human services worker and bookkeeper, and has 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Donna is an avid bowler, and she actually bowls with professional bowlers twice a year when they are on tour in her area. Donna is a huge Elvis fan and collector. She also loves Don Ho, the entertainer from Hawaii, and has met him in person. Donna enjoys crafting, sewing and baking, and has plans to start her own travel agency! Donna resides with her Boxer dog, Zeus, in Glenwood, Iowa.

Brent Soderstrum is Treasurer of the SILC Board. He resides in West Des Moines, and is an attorney with the Brown Winick law firm in Des Moines. Brent has two children, Tanner and Rachel, and he is an avid Iowa Cubs fan.

| August "Gus" Cordero recently retired from Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services where he worked as a VR Counselor. He resides in the Des Moines area with his family.

Jennifer Furler is on staff with the State Public Policy Group (SPPG). She resides in West Des Moines with her husband and children.

| Becky Holloway, SILC Board Member, Marshalltown |
|
Becky Holloway was a Board Member on the Wyoming SILC and was a Board Member of the American Council for the Blind in Wyoming prior to moving to Iowa. She resides in Marshalltown, and is interested in developing a support group in her area for people who are blind and/or people who have diabetes. Becky enjoys working on jigsaw puzzles, going out with family and friends, attending church, and playing social games on her Facebook page.

Doug Moravek is a SILC Board Member representing the seven Iowa Centers for Independent Living. Doug is the Executive Director of the Three Rivers Independent Living Center in Sioux City. Doug and his wife Jill have three children, and reside in the Sioux City area.

| Deb Philpot is the Executive Director of the South Central Iowa Center for Independent Living (SCICIL), which serves Appanoose, Mahaska, and Monroe counties. Deb resides in Oskaloosa with her daughter, Brooke.

| Doug Sample, SILC Board Member, Davenport |
|
Doug Sample resides in Davenport. He and Becky have been together for 16 years, and they just purchased a new ACCESSIBLE home in Davenport. They have hosted several foreign exchange students over the years. In addition to being on the SILC Board, Doug is also an active member of the Olmstead Consumer Task Force. Doug enjoys providing Pressure Point Massage, and would like to start his own business offering this service. He builds computers as a hobby, and has been using speech input systems for many years to enable him to type on his computer. Doug has been on the Consumer Choices Option Program since it began as a pilot project, and the program has been a tremendous help to him in remaining independent.

Becky Criswell is the Program Manager for the Independent Living Program at the Iowa Department for the Blind (IDB), one of two state agencies that collaborates with the SILC. Becky serves the SILC as an Ex-Officio Board Member, representing IDB. Becky resides with her family in Des Moines.

Rachel Scott is the Legislative Liaison/ Public Information Officer for the Iowa Department of Human Rights (DHR), and is the Executive Officer for the Office on the Status of Women. She serves the SILC as an Ex-Officio Board Member representing the DHR, a state agency that advocates for underrepresented populations, including persons with disabilities and Iowans who are deaf and hard of hearing. She has worked as the Governor's Policy Liaison on Education, Workforce, and Economic Policy, a public policy consultant, and a college instructor. She holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Drake University and a Master's in English from Truman State University. Rachel resides with her husband and children in Des Moines.

Tomoko Yajima is the Resource Manager for the Independent Living Program at Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services(IVRS), one of two state agencies that the SILC collaborates with. She serves the SILC as an Ex-Officio Board Member representing IVRS. Tomoko resides in Des Moines.
